Kansas City, Missouri – February 25, 2019 – “Clean Label Technology” has been announced as the theme for the interactive 2019 Petfood Innovation Workshop, focusing on the trends of transparency and desire for improved communication through labels.

This unique workshop will take place the day prior to the commencement of Petfood Forum on April 29, 2019 at K-State Olathe in Olathe, Kansas. The annual Petfood Forum conference and exhibition will be hosted at the Kansas City Convention Center on April 29 – May 1, 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

“Over the years there has been an increasing interest in clean, simplified labels and transparency in pet food and treats,” said Debbie Phillips-Donaldson, editor-in-chief of Petfood Industry. “Petfood Innovation Workshop will explore the key elements of clean label technology focusing on consumer messaging, regulation and claims, supply chain, manufacturing, preservation and packaging, and validation, control and quality.”

During Petfood Innovation Workshop 2019, attendees will learn about the critical components of clean label technology through a series of engaging exercises and hands-on experiences. Suppliers will provide an expert, insiders-look into manufacturing and distributing pet foods with clean labels. The 2019 Petfood Innovation Workshop sponsors include 1 Solution Group, Bureau Veritas, Darling Ingredients, DSM, Ingredion Corporation, Kerry Ingredients, TC Transcontinental and WTI, Inc.

The workshop interactive sessions include: clean label: what it is, how consumer trends are driving it; learn to verify clean label, pet food ingredients; how to protect brand equity through clean label requirements; efficacy of vinegar in expanded canine diets for product security; learning to trust your pet food supply chain; clean label, non-chemical solutions for finished pet foods; and how to achieve your pet food packaging sustainability goals.
