Rockford, IL – May 5, 2016 – Representatives from Petfood Industry magazine have announced that Petfood Forum 2016 saw an increase of 19% in total attendance, and over 250 (10% more) exhibiting companies compared to 2015, which are record-breaking figures.
For the third consecutive year, the expanded exhibit hall floor was a sell-out and featured over 40 additional booths in 2016, while still maintaining a waiting list of 20 companies which will be vying for spaces on the 2017 floor. Petfood Forum is an annual event which was held on April 18-20, 2016, in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
Many of the top global pet food manufacturers, co-packers and retailers with their own brands, maintained a strong presence at Petfood Forum 2016 including Affinity Petcare, Big Heart Pet Brands, Blue Buffalo, CJ Foods, Cargill, Champion Pet Foods, Diamond Pet Foods, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Kroger, Mars Petcare, Merrick, Nestlé Purina, Nippon Pet Foods, Ohio Pet Foods, Petco, Petsmart, Perfect Companion Group, Royal Canin, Sanderson Farms, Tyson, Unicharm, Walmart, Wellpet LLC and Zuke’s.
Due to its growth, Petfood Forum received increased attention from the media, including Kansas City NBC 41 News (affiliate station KSHB) coverage, as well as editorial features by the Kansas City Business Journal, Pet Business and Pet Product News.
Also breaking attendance records was the Petfood Innovation Workshop, in its second rendition using a unique hands-on learning format and featuring a new theme. The Petfood Innovation Workshop: Meat & Novel Proteins was hosted at the Kansas State University-Olathe Food Innovation Accelerator Lab and sold out available spaces for participants. Another opportunity to attend will be presented later this year in Manhattan, Kansas at the Petfood Innovation Workshop & K-State Pet Food Experience on September 14-15, 2016, with registration announcements coming soon. The Fall Workshop will feature an updated program focused on the functionality, sustainability and safety challenges pet food businesses face in creating successful high impact meat and novel protein products.
