ROCKFORD, Ill. — Sept. 14, 2020 — Petfood Essentials CONNECT•ED, a new immersive educational short course reimagined from this year’s Petfood Essentials pre-con event, is scheduled to release the first learning module on Nov. 3, 2020, with registration available now.

The program features six modules offering learning on two of the most essential areas of dry pet food: production and safety. Starting with ingredient selection, then moving to dry kibble processing to packaging and the stages between, leading industry experts will provide instruction on each key function and step of pet food product development and production.

“Petfood Essentials CONNECT•ED is designed to help newcomers to the pet food industry, or those who want to learn about other areas outside of their own functions, gain a strong foundation in the core elements and stages of dry pet food production and safety,” said Debbie Phillips-Donaldson, editor-in-chief of Petfood Industry.

Petfood Essentials CONNECT•ED supports entry-level employees with needed education of the process, food safety, regulations and critical control points in manufacturing pet food. The short course sessions include: ingredient selection and sourcing; batching, mixing, milling and grinding; preconditioning and extrusion; coating, drying and cooling; packaging; and quality, safety and testing.

After the first pre-recorded module including a live Q&A with the speaker is released, new modules will be released weekly, for six weeks. Each participant to complete all six on-demand modules, including a brief quiz at the end of each, will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible for discounts to next year’s Petfood Essentials pre-con event.

Registration is available now for Petfood Essentials CONNECT•ED. For more details and the most up-to-date information please visit PetfoodForumEvents.com.
