ROCKFORD, Ill. – October 29, 2020 – Virtual Poultry Tech Summit attracted poultry professionals from more than 40 countries including Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and many others. The first-of-its-kind virtual event held on Oct. 20-22, 2020, showcased emerging technologies and industry collaboration.

“The Summit provided a platform for the global industry to meet, learn, discuss and collaborate on the very latest in biology, engineering and business specific to poultry production and processing,” said Greg Watt, president and CEO of WATT Global Media.

Virtual Poultry Tech Summit provided an avenue for innovators, startups and researchers to present their emerging technologies. Fifteen new innovative technologies ready for future application in poultry live production, processing and supply chain were introduced. Topics included how AI can help integrators solve unseen problems, image processing to automate weight estimation, genetically modified probiotics, using wearables to address labor availability issues and much more.

The conference commenced with a keynote presentation from Paul Aho, Ph.D., president of Poultry Perspective, on what the poultry industry will look like in a post COVID-19 world. Steven Lerch, president and founder of Story Arc Consulting, provided the opening keynote on Wednesday, sharing strategies for creating a culture of innovation.

The agenda also included three panel discussions on building resilience and antifragility with technology, how emerging macroeconomic and consumer trends will impact technology needs, and which technologies are poised to disrupt the poultry supply chain. Panelists included executives from 2 Sisters Food Group, Aquaa Partners, FTI Consulting, Georgia Tech Research Institute, G&S Agriconsultant, OD Consulting, Market Planning & Strategy, OptiFarm, Phibro Animal Health and Poultry Perspective.

Additionally, Virtual Poultry Tech Summit allowed poultry professionals from around the world to network, exchange ideas and grow business revenues when in-person meetings are not possible. Attendees had opportunities to connect during one-on-one partnership meetings, through the digital showroom featuring industry suppliers and live Q&A sessions with speakers.

Virtual Poultry Tech Summit was presented in collaboration with Georgia Tech Research Institute, USPOULTRY, and the Department of Poultry Science at the University of Georgia, and with support from the World’s Poultry Science Association.

The 2021 Poultry Tech Summit is scheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 2, at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Convention Center in Atlanta, Ga. For more information about Poultry Tech Summit, visit PoultryTechSummit.com.
