Rockford, IL – July 21, 2021 –WATT Global Media has hired Meredith Johnson as the managing editor of Egg Industry Insight and Alyssa Hardt as associate editor.
Johnson brings experience in project management, food processing compliance with regulatory requirements, sanitation operating procedures, HACCP plans, GMP policies and supporting food safety programs with her. Prior to joining WATT, Johnson served in supervisory roles in Quality Control for Golden State Foods and Koch Foods facilities.
Meredith holds an undergraduate degree in Meat Science with a focus on nutrition, and a Master of Poultry Science, both from Auburn University. Meredith’s graduate research specialized in food quality with a thesis on broiler breast meat quality. She has also completed PAACO animal welfare auditing training.

Hardt holds an undergraduate degree in English – Studies in Writing from Northern Illinois University. Prior to coming to WATT Alyssa interned for six months with The Buchanan Group, where she gained experience in online content management and research.
Alyssa will be responsible for writing about and posting products on WATTPoultry.com, FeedStrategy.com and PetfoodIndustry.com. She will update events calendars and write news items for the sites.
