Debbie Phillips-Donaldson, Editor-in-Chief of Petfood Industry magazine, presented a session titled, “Global pet food market update: trends shaping the future,” at the Mexican Forum on Pet Food in Guadalajara, Mexico, on June 17, 2016.

Phillips-Donaldson provided an overview of the global pet care and pet food markets, including on pet ownership, plus a quick peek at the Mexican pet food market. She also discussed data and insights on key trends such as premiumization, health and wellness, natural and grain-free pet food, high-meat formulations and novel proteins, the popularity of small-breed dogs and rising categories such as treats, raw and freeze-dried pet food. The presentation concluded with a glimpse into the future and how these trends might play out.
