“We are pleased to announce the all-star keynote speaker lineup for Petfood Forum 2018,” said Debbie Phillips-Donaldson, editor-in-chief of Petfood Industry. “Jack Hanna and Dr. Brian Hare are experts in the pet food industry and their presentations will offer valuable insights for our attendees.”

Jack Hanna, conservationist and television personality, will kick off the morning sessions on April 24, 2018. Attendees can also expect Hanna to include animals as part of his wildly entertaining presentation. As former director of the Columbus Zoo, Hanna led improvements to the zoo grounds, animal habitat and staff morale helping to increase attendance and local involvement. Hanna is the host of two-awarding winning televisions shows, “Jack Hanna’s into the Wild” and “Jack Hanna’s Wild Countdown,” reaching more than 2.5 million households each week.

To close the event, Brian Hare, PhD, will give a thought-provoking presentation on how dogs observe, understand and react to the world. Hare, who is an associate professor at Duke University and New York Times bestselling author, will discuss his recent research on canine cognition and his work determining dog’s individual cognitive styles. To increase the amount of dog behavioral data he has to work with, Hare co-founded Dognition. Dognition’s website allows dog owners to evaluate their canine companions using 10 games focused on empathy, communication, cunning, memory, reasoning and other factors.

In addition to presentations by Hanna and Hare, attendees will have the opportunity to network with the global industry’s top-decision makers, learn the latest pet food trends, discover new tools for success and share ideas.
