Rockford, IL – March 24, 2016 – The March issues of WATT PoultryUSA and Industria Avícola magazines highlighted the latest rankings for the top poultry companies in the U.S. and Latin America.

These exclusive lists can be accessed in WATT Global Media’s expansive Top Poultry Companies online database that houses information on more than 1,000 poultry companies around the world.

The Top U.S. Poultry Companies issue profiles the leading 34 broiler firms and 23 turkey firms. Broiler companies are ranked by ready-to-cook (RTC) volume and turkey companies are ranked in slaughter volume. The issue also includes an interactive map of all broiler and turkey company plant and headquarters locations for the Top Companies profiled.

“This year’s Top Companies rankings show how the largest U.S. broiler producers are redefining their products and business models to achieve profitable growth,” says Gary Thornton, editor of WATT PoultryUSA magazine. “Even turkey companies, affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza in 2015, have continued to invest in expanding further processing.”

Poultry production in Latin America continued to grow in 2015, with an overall increase of 2.7% in production of broilers. The population of laying hens in the region decreased slightly by 0.7%.

“Overall, 2015 was a good year for Latin American poultry producers,” says Benjamín Ruiz, editor of Industria Avícola magazine. “Production increased in the region’s major producing countries and lower costs of raw materials during the year surely had a positive impact on production costs.”

In addition, further data on poultry production trends can be found in the Market Data section of WATTAgNet.com. Here, online users can download spreadsheets of data with graphs of additional poultry production and consumption statistics.
