Rockford, IL – July 27, 2017 – Poultry International China magazine, LyJa Media and WATT Global Media have announced the 2017 International Poultry Forum China conference hosted more than 200 industry professionals and senior executives from major poultry broiler and layer companies.

The 6th annual event was held at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Hongqiao on July 7-8, 2017.

Among the attendees were representatives from China Agricultural University, Beijing Huadu Yukou Poultry Industry Co., Ltd., Cobb-Vantress, Inc., Cargill Inc., CP Group, Kemin Industries, Inc., Wens Group, Big Dutchman International GmbH, Shanghai Poultry Breeding Co. Ltd., and MTC Information Technology.

Participants focused on a variety of hot topics including the construction of smart industrial engineering and precision production systems with a focus on the technological development of smart devices and fine production in the areas of poultry hatching, farming, processing and slaughtering.

According to Dingding Li, General Manager of LyJa Media, many equipment manufacturers in the poultry industry are already demonstrating a wide range of applications focusing on automation and other smart technologies. “But poultry production, no matter how it is realized, comes down to consumers who drive the development of the poultry industry,” said Li.

Greg Watt, President/CEO of WATT Global Media, echoed Li’s sentiments about the powerful influence of the consumer. “The global poultry industry is in a critical period when topics such as antibiotic-free meat production, cage-free layers and slow-growing broilers are receiving significant attention and these issues are colliding with the challenge of feeding an additional two billion people by 2050,” said Watt. “The industry needs to address these challenges through intelligent engineering and precision production with limited resources.”

Several executives also spoke in a panel on the application of intelligent technology in food production and customized agriculture. The experts underlined the significance of the application of smart or intelligent production technology, the upgrading of food research and consumption as well as business models of food companies.
