Rockford, IL – August 11, 2016 – Poultry International China magazine, LyJa Media and WATT Global Media have announced the 2016 International Poultry Forum China conference hosted more than 240 senior executives from leading poultry broiler and layer producers in China.
The 5th annual event was held at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Hongqiao on July 22-23, 2016.

2016 marked the first year members of the layer industry joined with broiler producers to learn, network and engage with an international group of thought leaders. Participants focused on a variety of hot topics including new food safety laws, transparency in animal production, employee training, antibiotic-free as the driving force with consumers, and how critical aspects of environmental protection can lead to more efficient production operations.

Chen Yuehua, Senior Manager of Food Safety Keystone Foods, told the audience, “It’s good news the media and consumers are paying more attention to animal welfare. China will take the animal welfare journey, just as Europe has, and the industry will be healthier as a result.”

Several executives also spoke in a panel on the topic of “Improving the Safety and Sustainable Development of Poultry” including: Jiang Kai, President of Poultry Division New Hope Liuhe; Lei Yonghui, General Manager of Animal Husbandry Division of Shuanghui Group; Li Yang, General Manager of Shenhang Huamei; and Wang Zhenquian, Marketing Director of Jiulain Group. The panel collectively echoed the need for the entire industry supply chain to promote and inform consumers about the value of poultry.

Dingding Li, General Manager of LyJa Media, provided results from the new China Chicken Consumer Market Survey which showed increased consumption in poultry and future development from middle and high-end consumers. Survey results also indicated industry focus will continue to shift toward quality of poultry and away from price.

The 6th annual International Poultry Forum China will take place in Shanghai, China, in August 2017.
